CLASS REVIEWS:

“I really enjoyed Jack's excitement about his models. They really helped me see foreshortening. I've really been struggling in another class to draw curled leaves. Jack's directions clicked for me and now I get it! I really, really, enjoyed Jack's humor and explanations. I'll be looking forward to more from him.”

With the bounty of the plant world all around us, it is always a great time to practice drawing and journaling plants and flowers. Join award-winning artist, author, educator, and scientist John Muir Laws for a 2-hour live online introductory class where he will share his best tips and tricks for drawing plants learned through his 35 years of teaching and illustrating.

All ages and levels welcome.

Please make a tax-deductible donation of $25 or more if you are able, using the menu below. ABOUT JOHN MUIR LAWS
John Muir Laws is a principal leader and innovator of the worldwide nature journaling movement. John, who goes by Jack, is an award-winning naturalist, artist, scientist, and educator who has dedicated nearly four decades of his life to connecting people to nature through art and science. From an early age, his parents instilled in him a deep love and respect for nature. Over the years, that love has grown to a commitment to stewardship, nature conservation, and a passion to share the delight of exploring nature with others. As a writer, scientist, and artist, Jack has developed numerous interdisciplinary educational programs that train students to observe with rigor and to refine techniques to become intentionally curious. (See Resources.)

He is the award-winning author and illustrator of several books including The Laws Guide to Nature Drawing and Journaling (also available in Spanish), the Laws Field Guide to the Sierra Nevada, and Sierra Wildflowers: A Hiker’s Guide, among other books. He is co-author with Emilie Lygren of How to Teach Nature Journaling. Learn more about John Muir Laws here.
